This quintessential modern anthem caught my attention immediately when I first heard the guys perform it live in the summer of 2007. The trick for me was going to be capturing the energy exuded on the stage in a recording, and being able to deliver that to the listener every time the song was heard.
So as to add just a dash more edge, I mixed this first demo in a crispy, almost brittle manner to evoke a foray through some retro brit-esque territory.
At times spacious, yet still Spartan, the sensibility is absolutely apparent upon first listen.
